Operated exclusively by ZIM, the new service is scheduled to commence in December 2026 with the following rotation:

Xiamen - Shanghai - Los Angeles - Xiamen

ZX3 will provide a direct 12-day transit from Shanghai to Los Angeles and a best-in-market 15-day transit from Xiamen to Los Angeles. The service brings an enhanced product to the Shanghai market and a dedicated premium expedited offering to the Xiamen market, while building on ZIM’s commitment to consistent weekly schedule reliability and solutions tailored to enhance supply chain resilience.

Joining ZIM’s established premium expedited service network (ZEX and ZX2), ZX3 will contribute to a combined frequency of seven weekly departures from China and Vietnam, giving customers greater flexibility, expanded market coverage, and reliable access to the US West Coast.

Key advantages include:

  • Direct calls with berth on arrival in Shanghai and Xiamen, expanding ZIM's premium network coverage across key markets in China.
  • Dedicated berth upon arrival at the WBCT terminal in Los Angeles, with dedicated ZIM yard and pick up lanes, supporting efficient and expedited cargo handling at destination.
  • Monday Los Angeles arrival with Expedited cargo availability, with cargo discharged onto ZIM-dedicated chassis with immediate availability – no appointment or queue required.
  • Expedited rail connections to major US inland destinations, including New York, Chicago, Memphis, Dallas, Kansas City, and more.
